Important information:

If a bear is being fed my humans, intentionally or unintentionally, the bear will get unnaturally comfortable in OUR surroundings. The comfort level will lead the bear to eventually break into something. If this happens the bear will need to be put down,

The bear should NOT feel comfortable in our neighborhoods. He should be in the woods eating berries.

Please take the following steps:

1. Take in ALL bird feeders down, day and night for the next couple weeks.

2. Store all trash inside a building, not a shed, that is locked with the doors closed.

3. If you see the bear make loud noises: fog horn, screams, car alarms and horns. Anything you have to make the bear feel unwelcome in the human habitat and to go back to the bear's habitat; the woods eating berries.

4. If possible put ammonia soaked rags or paper towels in trash barrels. Spray to soak again when they dry.

If NH Fish and Game thinks anyone is feeding the bear intentionally or unintentionally they can choose to fine each person up to $1000.00. This includes leaving bird feeders up when you suspect a bear might be eating from them. All per NH state law.

While we all have enjoyed the bear sightings, risking the bears life is nothing any of us would want to do.
