MANY BEAR SIGHTINGS IN BALMORAL

MANY BEAR SIGHTINGS IN BALMORAL

As most of you know, there have been many bear sightings in Balmoral recently.

PLEASE DO NOT INTIMIDATE OR HARASS THE BEARS.

NH Fish and Game provided helpful information:

1. Take in ALL bird feeders down, day and night for the next couple weeks.

2. Store all trash inside a building, not a shed, that is locked with the doors closed.

3. If you see the bear make loud noises: fog horn, screams, car alarms and horns. Anything you have to make the bear feel unwelcome in the human habitat and to go back to the bear's habitat; the woods eating berries.

4. If possible, put ammonia-soaked rags or paper towels in trash barrels. Spray to soak again when they dry.

NH Fish and Game says anyone feeding the bear intentionally or unintentionally, can be fined up to $1000.00. This includes leaving bird feeders up when you suspect a bear might be eating from them. All per NH state law.
